    Default Exhaust help needed

Hi everyone just looking for a little bit of help please if possible i have had a rattle coming from under the car for the last few days and i found the problem this morning it looks like its the wire mesh that covers the flexi on the exhaust, its all free and loose and spins around and rattles anyway is it needed or can i just cut it off ?

    thanks in advance

I'd be interested in th answer to this too - BUMP!

After my 'little incident' I can see the mesh cover where the manifold meets the exhaust proper underneath the car is quite tatty and I'm thinking I might just take it off...

Yes you can just cut it off but you will possibly find out the flexi itself is broken too.

You wont see it being broken inside the flexi wire stuff so it would have passed.

The wire rots away wheres its connected to the exhaust, but the actual flexi should be fine. Mines been like this for nearly the last 2 years.

Mines still there, just left it as it is. I can move it back and forward past the flexi.
