    Default 2.2 vectra.

    Could someone clarify a couple of points if possible...

    Is there different versions of the 2.2litre lump ? Looking at buying one around the
    05 period and keep getting differing numbers on the cars performance off the autotrader website for each car. Did they tinker with it at a particular point. They all seem to be the 'direct' can't say I remember seeing a 'non-direct' ? What is the difference ??

    Any help would be appreciated....

    If it's 05 mate it will be a direct there is two different one z22se is 147 bhp and the z22yh which is 155 bhp and that's the direct one both are a good engine IMO
    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info

    Thanks, what are the main differences between the 2 ? So is the 147bhp version the non direct ? What did they do it to get the extra few Bhp ?

    fuel pump plus fuel pressure regulator have been replaced

    hear for any rattling on the timing chain

    Is there a particular year which produced the dodgy fuel regulator or is it pot luck. I admit, this is the only issue which I'm concerned about.

    The 2.2 is a really good motor. You get good things and bad things with every car. The diesels are known for being problematic, but I had my vec for 3 years and didn't have a problem till this month just gone.

    I had mine replaced on my 2.2i direct,... 3 times!! 2 of which were the re-designed version! And I had to pay every time. VERY expensive.... but as said above,.. all cars have their issues. I now am on my second 1.9CDTI 150 - now I've had no problems in 100k miles (42k covered in the 2.2i) but there are a long list of issues with the CDTI 150 - but it's said the later models are all sorted, of which mine are 08 and 58.
