Default 1.9CDti (120) low on power

The car belongs to the missus so i dont drive it much, but today I went out in it and it has no power what so ever. There are no warning lights and it seems the turbo isnt kicking in until you rev it upto 3000rpm then it flies like a bat out of hell! but below that its got nothing. Where do i start looking?

ETA, when cold it runs like a bag of spanners, i put this down to needing glowplugs but now im thinking it may be something else.

Right away I would say check the vacuum hoses for the turbo (they may have split) first then EGR valve.

i ve never worked on this car before so im not too sure of the location. ive got the engine undershield off and its up on some ramps, i can see the turbo and exhaust are covered in oil but it looks more like a leak on the turbo oil feed supply than the turbo its self, the vacume pipe is the one that connects to the bottom of the turbo?
Also where on earth is the oil filter, i have a replacement but for the life of me cant find where it goes.

Vacuum pipes sit near the bumper at the top of the engine near the battery box. Open the bonnet, remove the engine cover and you'll see them.

EGR valve is located at the back of the engine, near the battery side. You can see both very easily from the top of the engine with the engine cover off.

yes i think ive found them, from the vac pump on the side of the engine the pipe goes over the engine down the back of it into a box (no idea what the box is) then back out of the box back over the engine to a little white thing that says vac and out on it, then from there to the bottom of the turbo.

One joint does indeed look perrished but when i pulled it off i got a wooshh of air so it looks like it was holding vacume. Ive had the long one off that goes down to the turbo and that is ok, so im guessing its not vacume related.

Ive found the oil filter housing, what a stupid place that is in :P

Its going dark so ive put it back together, i took it for a spin and its fixed! so i guess it is the vacume pipe, ill get some orderd up as im sure the fault will return if i dont change them.

The box you describe is the vacuum reservoir.

    Glad it's sorted.

Well apparently my fix lasted for all of 3 hours :P Ive had a chance to pull it apart properly today so ive taken off the throttle body, egr valve and boost sensor and to be honest I cant see how the car was running at all! The boos sensor was totaly encapsulated with a black sooty deposit, the EGR valve was alomost completely blocked with the stuff and the throttle body plate could only just move due to heavy gunkage! Also the internal of the large boost pipe from the turbo has a thin film of oil, its not dry as I expected it to be so...... Ive cleaned the boost sensor, cleaned out the egr, cleaned out the throttle body so it can all move again and replaced the vacum pipe (the bit that was perished) and for now with fingers crossed it seems to be working. Also discovered the car needs 4 new tyres so im now lighter by £350. God how I love having a day off!
The car also needs a thermostat, the glow plugs are knackered and looks like the break discs need replacing too..... I also bet it hasnt had a timing belt recently either. She has bought a real belter this time.

Don't worry about the thin film of oil in the boost pipe, this is quite normal. As for the thermostat, well, they are a lil pig to do on the 120's, so give yourself plenty of time.
