My Stereo(CDR 2005) makes a noise from the CD player when I turn on the ignition for a few seconds sometimes, does sound a bit like a fan hitting something now that I think about it, but its defiantly the CD.
I can defo confirm that the CD70 DOES have a cooling fan built into it, so yes, some CD players DO have cooling fans.
But I can confirm that the displays DO NOT have cooling fans.
On hot days, you can hear the fan running for about 30 seconds after I turn the ignition off
We have two CD70's that both work perfectly
1 in my Cavalier / Vectra-A
and 1 in the wife's Vectra-C

the NCDC range of radios also have fans built into them.
I presume all "multi-drive" units would have fans to cope with the heat caused by running two separate sets of CD operating circuit boards.
