Cheers mate, you're a diamond.
I can edit my details onto that now and stick it in the folder with the rest of the paperwork.
i dont have a car pass how do you get your details ? vx told me it would cost £17 to get them is there any other way!
not unless the dealer who you bought the car from had them on record..
For some reason the rep who ran the car before I bought it wrote the alam, immobiliser & stereo codes on the back of the selling dealers business card and left it in the glove box (probably for service times). When I bought the car only the MOT & V5 were present, so the dealer I bought the car from took the VX wallet and manuals from another Vectra C and left me to order a service history book from the selling dealer who has agreed to stamp it up to date. This just left the Car Pass to sort out and it seemed pointless ordering an original when I already know what the codes are.
They take an age to arrive, I ordered a new pass at the beginning of August, still no sign. I even went in and got them to show me the paperwork relating to the order, they said it is coming, but can take up to about 3 months!
Cheers P
What do you need the Car Pass for? When I bought my car (6 months old and registered to the main dealer I bought it from) it didn't have one. I rang them up the day after collecting it and asked for it, dealer just said that the radio code was printed on the invoice so I wouldn't need it. This was nearly three years ago. I get my car serviced at a different main dealer and they've never asked for it...
Am I going to be annoyed if I find I need this in future for a problem?
Thanks
if you need another key, then yes.. the card has the key number on it as well..
Agreed. The car requires the immobiliser code to add the mechanical key part to the ECU memory and the alarm code for the fob.
