Do a search for squeaky fan motor - there are loads of posts with descriptions and photos of how to remove it. I know I've posted the procedure at least 4 or 5 times in the last 6 months. It's also in the Haynes manual, with photos.

Basically - remove the 5 screws holding the glove box on. Unplug the glovebox light. Remove glovebox. Unplug and remove heater resistor pack from duct and unplug motor. Remove 11 small screws holding motor housing and duct halves together. Remove footwell duct. Release 3 clips on motor housing and separate. Remove motor housing complete with duct and fan. Undo 3 small screws on base of housing. Remove motor. Clean up rust/corrosion, lubricate bearings. Check fan not catching on motor. Refit motor to housing. Refit housing to car. Refit duct and resistor pack. Plug in resistor pack and motor. Refit glovebox and light. Job done

That's the one, mounted vertically behind the glove box. You can vaguely spray WD40 in from the top, but if the bottom bearing is the one that's squeaking, you won't really sort it out like that.rr

Best to remove the motor and fan completely and sort the bearings out properly. Also you might find the fan has slipped on the shaft and is rubbing on the motor itself - and you'll have to get it out of the car to sort that

No, the fan housing is about eight times larger than the hole in the bulkhead

Seriously - removing the glovebox takes 2 minutes. Then you'll see how it all works.

I posted a brief guide earlier - 11 small screws. If you don't have one, get a Haynes manual as it's got a picture of where they all are.

There isn't a how to yet - but feel free to take some photos!
