    Default What's this???

I painted my calipers today. Whilst i had the wheels off, i noticed that i have a sensor (i presume) on the N/S front wheel. It slides into a locator on the front of the caliper, where there's a opening. On the O/S there isn't one. Firstly, what is it? Secondly, Why is there only one. Thirdly, Should i be looking to get one on the O/S?

That'll be the brake pad wear sensor. Only fitted on that side, and only for people who can't have a look for themselves and figure out when they need new pads...

Ahhhhh, do you know when it's supposed to alert? just did my pads as it was noted they were wearing thin when we changed the droplinks. They were down to about 3mm. No sign of any warning though?

The warning light comes on when the plastic end cap of the sensor wears down by rubbing on the disc, allowing the wire inside to make contact with the disc.
