Humph. It's all very well, but there are several garages that have run out around here, and won't be refilled for another 2 or 3 days.
ive put my search for a vec off for few weeks so hopefully will miss out on this
The problem is, the strikes were never actually "on" in the first place. They're still saying there will be strikes, but they never actually said when it would be. The media (especially Murdoch's media) grabbed hold of the fact that it was coming up to a big bank holiday and ran with it causing as much of the chaos as the government ministers advice.
The strikes are still due to happen at the moment they haven't been "called off", they are just yet to set a date and as they have to give seven days notice by law, they are not in a position to get it organised in time for the easter weekend.

Woman driver they interviewed on BBC summed it up
"We're on holiday, not really going anywhere, but we're filling all our cars up anyway"
Seems there are loads of people out there that fill their kitchen cupboards with things they don't want or need...
Someone complained about why one of our petrol stations was still open but refusing to sell petrol, with a LARGE sign in the centre of the entrance "Fuel for Emergency vehicles only"
There was a police car, an ambulance, and two fire vehicles filling up this morning
"I have to fill up, I have work to go to"
Numpties
Speaking to the fire and rescue driver and he had passed three other petrol stations that had now run out of diesel and so had been directed to ours

What about that woman in Wakefield with 40% burns over her body due to petrol igniting as she transferred it to other containers in the KITCHEN!!!!
Its that time of year for strikes anyway - I see the baggage handlers have annouced their strike over the easter weekend.
August bank holiday I guarantee the air traffic controllers will be on strike/threatening a strike.
Same old yearly pattern!
