    Default The detailing plan!

My dad has bought a silvery blue Peugeot 407SW (rather nice place to be actually) as the run around car. The paint is... ok at best. It's obviously just been tarted up by the garage but it really needs a good correcting. I'm really in need a top up of cleaning bits for the Omega too so this is my justification for the price! The plan is...

Attack with bug and tar remover.
    Rinse.
Clay it (Basics of Bling clay bars).
Shampoo (Muc Off Ubershine - already got this and love it)
    Rinse.
Polish (Poorboys SSR2 or AG SRP).
    Glaze (Poorboys White Diamond).
Seal (Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection - already got loads of this).
2 coats of wax (Autoglym HD wax - Got half of a tub left).

Now still being a bit of a detailing amateur, I may have got things in the wrong order, or put too many of something in. For example not sure about the polish AND the glaze. Normally with the Omega I wash it after a claying (only done this once though) seal it with AG EGP then wax it with the HD Wax. If it's just a top up I'll just wax it and miss the EGP. But for the Peugeot (which really could benefit from a machine polish but it's not going to get one) will this sort it out? There are a fair few swirls on the paint and bird crap marks on the roof that won't come off etc. Think that, in that order will sort it out? My dad really didn't want to change cars but push came to shove and really want to make this one look its best for him.

Yea that order is fine tho u don't need to put extra gloss protection on if ya waxing polish then wax. As for swirls and bird crap srp will cover them up by hand not much but will help. You really would be better with a da to remove the swirls tho

Cheers guys. Yeah I know it really does need a machine polish really but I don't know anyone round here with a DA. Never used one myself either so don't fancy trying it out on someone else's car!

Another tip for you is to do the 2 coats of HD wax, but wait for 24 hours and give it another coat as the wax will have time to cure fully. Applying to many coats one after the other just lifts the last coat as its not cured properly.

Should have said - that's what I've been doing with mine anyway. Wash and wax, then the next day wipe any crap off with quick detailer and put another coat on.
