    Default Windows 7 questions

OK so finally I had to get a new laptop and naturally it is running Windows 7. I am stunned to find out that none of my three printers will work with Windows 7 and no drivers I can see on Uncle Google either. I hope this is not the start of a very frustrating and or expensive phase in computing for me!

Canon Laserjet LBP 1120 and Canon inkjet i9950 cannot locate an x64 driver for them even off canon's website The last one is an HP1320 and at the end of it's general life cycle so not even looked for that one yet

Some printer manufacturers haven't wrote drivers for x64 versions of W7 yet. I had to email Lexmark for mine, and the sent me a CD with the driver on. That was a while back though...

Try the 32 bit drivers, or look for Vista drivers as they sometimes work with W7.

I tried the x32 for the LBP-1120 with a rejected install, the i9950 won't even pass the load screen yet, and there is nothing on canon's site. I think a swift email is going to go off tonight thanks for the idea Tony

Instead of running the driver installers, try extracting them using WinRar or something or downloading the driver only packages if they're available and then run the add printer wizard and select the have disk option and point it to the drivers in the extracted directory. Sometimes the drivers will work even if they're not supposed to, the manufacturers stop the installers working on some O/s's to cover their own backsides.
