Default Petrol Strike? Who's Panic Buying?

Quite a large queue at Tescos for petrol today, I filled up my tank. I noticed the pumps had the Guards over all the regular unleaded pumps, only Diesel and the premium unleaded left for sale, also noticed a couple of people filling up little petrol cans and popping them in the boots of their cars..

This drivers strike might not even happen.. Hows it going for others, anybody noticed petrol stations running out?

Not noticed any around me been overly busy or out of fuel. My local shell had run out of V Power diesil, but thats about it.

Im not too worried either, If i have no fuel, i dont go out and i dont spend money.

Took me three filling stations today to find one with any unleaded left, and even then it was only in one of the underground tanks as half the pumps had the "not in use" signs on the UL nozzles. Panic buying is a self-fulfilling prophecy as more people see cars filling up and think "I'd better get some while I still can", and so on...

My wife wanted to get some crap from Boots, so I told her she can go and take the Signum (we have a '96 Astra estate shed runabout) but she MUST fill the car up as we are going away at the weekend, just to be safe. She said she past the fuel station on the way out and no-one was there, but she carried on. Did her shopping and every station was full on the way back so she didn't fill the car up!

Not panic buying as such, but felt I had to top up just incase as I have to have my car on the road for work and garages all over the place are running out because people ARE panic buying. The damn garage had put the price of ultimate unleaded up 10p per litre as well the tw4ts.

Seems like there's fuel about now, but garages restricting opening hours and big queues. Idiots.

They need to give 7 days notice of a strike and at the moment they have only voted in favour so its still at least a week away IF it happens at all!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
