Default What size wheel will fit in boot to replace space saver?

Probably a frequent question but what is the biggest wheel I can fit in the well where space saver is? I have low prof 18's so was hopin for at least standard 17 to fit and if so anyone got one for sale?
    Cheers

you'd fit a 17 in there no bother lol

but its not the diameter that a prob -its the depth of the recess. 215s/225s sitshigher than the boot floor so unless you build that up- about 30mm ish then you're idea won't work.

I'm thinking of doing mine when i can get a decent bit acoustic underlay to double/treble up and a piece of 6mm play to lay over it before putting the boot carpet back over.
though the boot carpet may not fit tightly once raised upwards......

bear in mind if the spare isn't exactly the same as the other wheel on the same axle then you are still restricted to 50mph/80kph just like the space saver.

I have fitted a 18 8J wheel in mine and used some 30mm hard density foam I got from a member on here (2m x 1m) to make the boot carpet higher. It had double sided tape on one side which i stock the boot mat to. just the right size

30mm was not a bad estimate then

when you say hard density foam do you mean firm and slightly flexi or hard and inflexible????

I want somnething that wil deaden the sound a bit more so foam would do if it's not rigid.

Slightly flexible but sealed so will not absorb fluids. It makes good sound deadning as well

Depending on the width (J rating in inches) you should be able to fit a 7J wheel in without any issues, maybe 7.5J.
8J will need the boot raising

I've got 46 litres of compressed propane where the spare wheel should go.
