Default iPhone / USB wiring question?

Can some clever soul tell me if this would work...

Looking at doing the aux in mod but with the a USB, will take the 5v Fromm elsewhere, but the data + & - will be for sound yes?

Looking to do the ccr2006 mod.

Just checked the pick again... Doh.

Need one with full wires for audio pins.

On the bottom of the iphone/ipad/ipod, the multipin connector carries 'line level' output. You can buy from ebay, a split cable. It has usb for power and sync and a minijack to carry the audio. You could just cut the minijack off and solder on the relevant wires.

If you go to your local Poundland, you'll find they do an iPhone dock that has a 3.5mm headphone socket at line level and the relevant plug and socket for the iPhone and charge cable. Take the plugs and sockets out of the plastic case and you'll find you can get to the wires you need easily.

And £1 for an iPhone plug and socket is by far the cheapest way to get them!

Look at Pins 2, 3, and 4 on your OP for your audio out. Data+ and Data- are for PC connection.

You could get a USB charger that goes in the cig lighter socket if you can't find a suitable 5V supply for charging on the stereo. For example: [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-PowerJolt-Charger-Charging-iPhone/dp/B004Z4MDGG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1333007281&sr=8-2"]Griffin PowerJolt Dual USB Port Car Charger Duo USB: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/412t-W8LEAL.@@AMEPARAM@@412t-W8LEAL[/ame]
