    Default Weird Problem with PC..

Well since last Friday there are certain websites that wont load on the computer, obviously this one will however Talkangling .com is one of them,i need to get on there as i have bought an item off a guy in the west midlands through the website(fishing box) and i need his address for the pick up.
Also the wife wanted to watch the Titanic programme on the itv player from last night but it keeps coming up that i'm not in the uk so it wont load, and the same goes with the BBC iPLAYER,
Done a few scans with avira but nothing is coming up...?do you think i have been infected in someway.

Doesn't look like http://www.talkangling.com is still about, I also get a malaware message popup for that site, did you not mean http://www.talkangling.co.uk/ as thats a valid site?

What did you do last time you were having problems, or did it just cure itself?

Might want to try CCLeaner and a Malaware scanner like Malwarebytes, It was Malwarebytes that detected & blocked that angling site.

Have to say, I would agree with Pete's suggestion of using CCleaner and Malwarebytes.

As suggested last time around, I would also manually restart your router to see if that helps. Just turn it off for a minute and then back on. Refreshing your IP address might just help.

    From the ITV Player site:

    12. I live inside the UK but it says that I am blocked because I am not in the UK, why?
We do not hold international rights to all of our programming so video content is supplied only to users with IP addresses in the UK. Some users in the UK may be affected by such geographic blocking if their internet service provider (ISP) uses servers outside the UK.

If you are within the UK, please contact your ISP to find out why you are being affected by geo-blocking. AOL customers may experience issues if using an AOL browser. We suggest using another browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.

In addition, programs such as web accelerators can divert your internet connection outside of the UK and cause the same problem."

Its getting a bit deeper, apparently my ip address has been changed, but not by me so? who or what has changed it,i asked Google what my ip address is and its not the one which it should be according to plusnet ,its giving an address in Newent Gloucestershire which is rubbish as Plusnet are based in Sheffield afaik.

However i allways thought that Gloucestershire was in the Uk,not according to talkangling and bbc ip layer, and also itv iplayer weird hey.?

I wouldn't worry about that too much. It's probably just giving the physical location of your ISP, rather than where you as the end user actually live. I'm not that far from Glasgow, but if I look up the whereabouts of my IP address, it tells me it's London. As you say though, odd that it's still somehow flagging up as not being in the UK.

Random thought perhaps, but the time-zone on your PC hasn't got messed up with the changing of the clocks? Is it still set to "(UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London"?

If that has got messed up, it might explain why some sites think you are actually somewhere else. Don't know what version of Windows you are using, but you can usually get to the time-zone settings by just clicking on the time/date at the bottom right of your screen.

Could also be worth checking your Regional settings. You'll find them by going through the control panel. The Clock, Region and Language settings are usually all in one place.
