    Default WHY!?? Astra Bumpers

    Right

Im just going to ask as this has been causing me pain for like, years

Why is it all Astra Mk 5's have square cut outs in the front bumper?
Like they have washer jets..... yet dont!?

When I was in Ellesmere Port once, I asked a technician, he said
    " I dunno"....

Anyone on here know? Do most of the exported cars have washers but not xenons? is it a cost cutting exercise due to something like this?
Did they do this simply to confuse me?

    WHY!? anyone?....................

They are for the head light washer system for cars fitted with AFL's.

Instead of having two different bumper molds to allow for this fittment they made one bumper with blanks that could be poped out and the washer system fitted.

If you google "astra h headlight washer system" there are several youtube clips which come up showing it in operation... (can get access to you tube in my work for some reason lol)....

Yeh I know AFL has it, I had an Astra VXR and I have an unhealthy obsession with AFL - Xenons

I just dont understand why if they have minimal amounts of Xenon units and multiple stardard halogen why cut holes in all bumper?

If thats the case why havent all Insig's, Vectra's, Signum's etc etc etc

There were several things on my Dads old Astra H that weren't on my Vectra.

His car was the base model Astra estate, and my Vectra is an Elite.

His autobox showed what gear it was in on the dash. Mine only shows that info if I move the lever across to tiptronic mode.

Indicator lights would still flash when the car was locked or unlocked when you pressed the remote plipper again and again. Mine doesn't.

Accessory socket was live all the time. The Vectra ones aren't.

There were other things too, but I can't remember what they are now.

    Lol....

Just Vauxhall / GM being problem'matic or stupid at the same time I guess!

That was the reason for it as far as I know... One mould of a bumper for all, except they have a different bumper on the three dorr tot he five door etc...

If you spend to much time thinking it out you will end up MAD at which point vauxhall are bound to offer you a job designing bumpers... lol..
