I always use my local council fleet department MOT centre. Theyre usually on about £30 plus they dont try and lift your leg because they dont do repairs! If it fails its genuinley failed

At the end of the day an MOT tester at Quckfit is trained to the same standard as any other MOT tester. If you feel they are over zealous you have the same route of appeal as if you took it to a VX garage. Trouble is if you've waited to the last day of your MOT you could be fooked, sorry.

Kwikfit did my father in laws mot, as he went to tax it.and had no mot, as the BMW main dealer told him it had 12 months mot, and in fact only had 8 months, Kwik fit was only place that could get him in that day. Couldn't fault them, they provided friendly service, passed the mot no advisories. With Kwik fit it comes down to the branch manager whether you get correct service. Our local branch manager is one of most honest blokes you can meet, and expects the same from his staff, sadly can't be said about all Kwik fit branches though. Halfords autocentres are the same though, depends on local branch manager whether correct test is made
