Default Blowing exhaust and slight oil leak?

Good day to one and all!!

1.8 16V 2003 with blowing flexi pipe. Is it only the specific exhaust that will fit or would something like the SRi manifold back system fit?

Asking about the SRi system as an example as I want to change the back box and the SR looks nice for an OE tail pipe - thinking 2 birds 1 stone.

As for the oil leak - I think this may be coming from the oil level sensor thingy on the front of the sump. Anybody know if this is a common thing??

    Help always greatly received.

    Tony

1.8 has a Manicat set up so you'll just have to either replace the front pipe or find an exhaust place that can weld in another flexi. Carpartsconexxions showing a front pipe at £41 inc VAT, for a part thats £120 from the dealers, maybe another £10 for delivery. SRi will be exactly the same front pipe, the 1.8 SRi is exactly the same as the 1.8 LS, its just got a closer ratio gear box to make it slightly quicker.

As for the oil leak, not sure. Degrease and check its defiantly that. Might be just a case of removing, cleaning and use some instant gasket to reseal.

Cheers Das, could I not just remove the flexi / minicat and weld in a solid section?

Cleaned it up this afternoon so will see how its fairs tomorrow.

    Thanks again mate.
