    Default I Have Been Bitten

Well been bitten by the Subaru bug again and I am seriously considering selling my pride and joy.My brother has a Impreza running 305bhp which i play in when I go to see him. And my mate has one in which is running around 380bhp. It has also got full rally decals roof pod and gold alloys on. I had a drive in it last night and I was grinning from ear to ear when we got back.Just the shear power no turbo lag do to the roller bearing turbo and anti lag ecu controller it launched from a standstill to 100mph on a private road of course in about 5.5 seconds.I could not keep my head forward and was pushed into the back of the seats. It was a very drivable car and happy to plod around at 35mph in 5th.But the shearfun of this car is unbealeaveble. I know Imprezas are all over at the moment but there are some very indiviual ones around at the moment and If I get one Im sure i can change the look to be a little different.Only thing putting me off is for the money I would pay for a nice 04 Sti with nice wheels and a 305 bhp I could get myself a 55 plate Vxr Vectra which you do not see al ot of on the road.I like them both so will see if the fever develops any worse over the next few months.

My brothers cost less to service at the dealers than mine cost me to get done.I think people have a myth that they are very expensive cars to run but they are not that bad at all.If my brother drives his well and goes a steady 75 on the motorway he can acheive around the same in fuel consumption as I can, but you put your foot down and bring the turbo to full boost thats when it starts to go wrong and £20 of fuel can soon wither away to nothing. It leaves a smile on your face though. Its great to listen to that boxer engine barbleing away and the dump valve he has on has a great chatter sound like the old Audi Quattro rally cars from the 80s.Who needs a radio.

Subaru's are a lot of fun but horrendously expensive to run judging by my mate's 54 plate and what it costs him, my personal choice would have to be the 55plate VXR Vectra which offers serious options up to and over 400Bhp with the added refinement that the Vectra has over the Subaru

They can pinch any car if thay want to be blunt. If you get a good alarm system that stops them dead.My car would be garaged and only gets used at the weekend due to work.I get the impression you do not like Imprezas then due to the response on here.Well not many people do. I was not a big fan of them at all untill I got to drive one. They are so nice to drive right from the engine power to gear changes, steering response, and handling,Not much on them as to toys but the basics are there, and its not bad from a firm who just started out building little 4wd vehicles for farmers with small budgets.Still like the VXR but can't compare until I get a test drive in one.Don't think the power response or handling will be anywhere like th Scooby which may just dissapoint me.

Alarm systems don't stop them. I've been to more jobs than I can count, where houses have been burgled to get the keys. An awful lot of these have involved doors being smashed in and the occupants threatened.

I just wouldn't have the piece of mind if I had one.

I like Scooby's Tel, but get yourself down to the Vauxhall Performance centre and ask Tony for a test drive of the latest 888 project Vectra VXR. WOW
