i dont have a rear interior light and dont fancy cutting a big hole for the proper one so i found one on ebay but not sure if it would look ok what do you all think.

Stop, calm down, step away and just buy a proper light.
I am sure if you ask nicely there will be someone in your area to help you out...
still have to cut a hole to wire it up

I got one A few weeks ago on e-bay. It cost less than that one, looks better and the wiring plug was there just needed plugging in!

When you drop the roof lining you will see a lower panel right in the center. I stuck a pin through there then stuck a card template to the pin and cut around it!
It Easier that it sounds! I put off doning it but it only took about 10 minutes, the hardest bit was droping the lining
