Just completed a detail on a x type jaguar , i first did this car 3 years ago when the owner had just purchased it .
I am afraid the intervening years have not been kind to this jag as she has had several minor shunts and scrapes
Anyway the brief was to remove as many of the scrapes and scratches as possible and to give the car as good a detail as was possible in the time available a little over 5 hrs
First up i washed her then went around the lower panels with tardis to get some of the tar spots off .
Next stage attack the worst of the scratches with a DA and cutting pad and a mixture of 3Ms fast cut and some cutting paste .
At this point i found out just how hard jaguar paint is, at least on the panels that still had there original paint . some scratches that on a vectra would come out fairly easy were hardly being touched on the jag .
With a bit of perseverance and some swearing i managed to get the worst of it down to an exceptable level
next up was a coat of blackhole just to cover the scratches that could not be removed with the Da
then a coat of blacklight followed by a couple of coats of zaino clear seal.
And topped of with a coat of pete,s 53 wax .
a quick scoot around the door sills and wheels and tyres was all that time allowed to finish her off
