Try these threads mate might be of some use. Mine has been ok on my 2.2 sri but others have had probs.
Thanks for that Graeme, I'll check the threads out.
Bryan..........maybe see you at a meet sometime!
Don't want to teach you to suck eggs mate, but is your foot completely off the clutch when you try to switch your cruise control on. All you have to do is very gently touch the clutch pedal on mine and it knocks it off.
Agree with AJA
My wife was driving, I asked her to pop on Cruise Control .... "It's not working" ... falmin hell I said, must be that dodgy clutch spring - is yer foot off the clutch? .. yes she said
We swopped over driving and I just hovered my foot on the clutch and cruise would not work, took foot onto floor and cruise worked fine.
I concur with AJA.
Hope this helps with your C/C probs
Thanks for the reply AJA,
My foot is always on the footrest and it happens even on the motorway, I'm driving along merrily doing 70mph then suddenly I'm doing 55mph, the CC has just disengaged.
In fairness to the garage it's intermittent and they have changed virtually everything they possibly can, wierd eh.
Thanks
Bryan
Very weird mate.
It's got to a dodgy switch on either the brake or the clutch, have they checked these for you?
Yes AJ they have not only checked them but changed them, also changed the other sensors aswell and also changed the stalk.
I haven't been baack for a couple of months but I think it's time to start again.
Thanks
Bryan
As above really, find the clutch very sensitive. Just have to breath so it seems and it goes off. Other than that I think it takes a little time to kick in, have to hold the button in for a fwe secs before the dash light appears.
Thanks for the replies lads, I'll take back and keep you updated as to the progress.
Bryan
