Default ENGINE LIGHT ON AGAIN (emmisions light)

    hi guys.

emmisions light on again. still no loss of power and all seems well.

had the codes read last friday and reset, but light back on today (6 days later). none of the codes related to the emmisions though, only old interior module faults and 1 current cruise control fault.

quick question, if by chance i was to rectify the problem would the light automatically turn off or does it need reseting.

    cheers.

Depends on the fault code. Some will clear when the ECU detects the condition has cleared, some persist until cleared manually.

Read the codes again, and see what's there now.

I had this issue on my vec for ages... The light emmisions light came on and stayed on for a while (several days while still driving the car about) and then go out for several days then back on etc...

There was no loss in power, performance etc... possibly a slight reduction in ecconomey. turned out to be the O2 / Lamda sensor which was failing and flagging up an error which over time cleared. End result was a new o2 sensor.

    Opcom provided this error message...
