Default Warranty Cover With Wear And Tear Inc

Anybody had any experience with these people:

    http://www.click4warranty.co.uk/default.aspx

They say that they cover wear and tear items such as clutches, brakes etc. Just got a quote for my 4 year old Vectra and it came in at £190 for the 3 star, £200 for the 4 star and £230 for the 5 star one.

The 5 star one looks to provide quite comprehensive cover.

Check that they cover any mods though, if you have them.

I only have the airbox mod. Better check with them that the extra BHP won't affect things.

Seems very cheap for wear and tear. Mine is covered for wear and tear along with all DMF parts etc. @ £290 for a car with 30k on the clock.

Who's that with and does it have to have FSH? I'll be keeping my Vectra for the next 6/7 years at least, so I'm servicing it myself as I'm more than capable so I'd like a warranty that doesn't have to have services done by a garage which I'm struggling to find.

I'd be suprised if anyone would give warranty on a vehicle without a service record.

I've had a closer look at the website, and found that their approved repairers are Halfords Auto Centres, who I wouldn't let near my car. It also says you can use your own garage (probably after an inspection of the work that needs doing by the warranty company's engineer) but they'll only pay £40 an hour labour for garages outside the M25 (£50 inside the M25). That clearly rules out any Vauxhall dealers as their labour rate wil be much higher.

Warranty Direct allow dealer rates or preferred garage but must be VAT registered. FSH etc etc in accordance with Vauxhall. Preferred garage rates are up to £60 per hour... my preferred is £30 per hour so it's all good!

I wouldn't touch a policy with "Wear and Tear" cover again
Read the small print and see what the proportion is, based on the mileage

So if the clutch fails at 70K miles and the proportion is 40%, you then have to pay 60%
Without "Wear and Tear" they may refuse the claim, but then what is the point of the policy
Equally, under "Wear and Tear" they will ONLY pay for the specific part AND the labour for that part
So if the labour for the clutch is 2 hours, but it takes the garage 6 hours to get to it, you get stung for 4 hours labour as well!

I'm fully aware of the percentage m8internet and mine is covered 100% labour and 100% parts up to 60k miles. Thereafter you are covered for 100% labour and 90% parts, after 70k covered for 100% labour and 70% parts etc....
Warranty Direct seem to have good reports from both public and garages alike.
