Default which lowering springs for sri?

    hi

got a 2007 sri, after some springs for it. looking around a 40mm drop.

    what would you guys recommend?

fyi i am looking 40mm lower than sri height, not 40mm lower than standard vectra height (the sris are a little lower standard arent they>)

    cheers

so you'll be looking for -55mm springs? Most of the spring makers user the standard height for their drop measurements

To get the drop you want you'll probably have to look at coilovers

they wouldnt be 55mm springs they would be sri specific -40mm springs, designed for the sri. most spring makers make springs their springs in a few variations for the same car.

i.e. for a vectra they would have a line up something like this.

    petrol non-sri -40mm springs -- to lower a normal vectra 40mm

diesel non-sri-40mm springs -- to lower a diesel 40mm. they would have a higher rate at the front cos of the extra weight of the derv engine.

sri -40mm springs - designed for a sri to lower it 40mm from its standard height,

diesel sri -40mm springs - again designed to lower a sri 40mm from its standard height and with a higher front spring rate to compensate for extra weight of diesel motor, cos if you put petrol -40mm springs in a diesel it would go lower than 40mm,

Sorry fella the only options i've seen for most of the spring companies are engine options. I'd gladly be proved wrong though

hmm yeah i was just giving an example there of what its usually like. usually you would see gti and non-gti spring options, etc.

there doesnt seem to be that much about for the vectra c, not many coilover kits either.

was just checking europerformance and they only seem to offer engine options.

but i dont want to, for example, buy -40mm springs and then fit them to my sri for them to only lower it 25mm as it is 15mm lower as standard. (i read somewhere that sri is 15mm lower, can anyone confirm?)

interested to hear what people on here have lowered their sri's on?

The only time you get an sri option on the C is when buying standard springs

The sri is 15mm lower than a standard non sri therefore a kit marked as a -30mm drop (from a non sri) will actually be a -15mm drop on an sri.

IIRC you can get -45mm springs but after that you're into coilover world

I personally used Irmscher lowering springs on mine (marked as -30mm but giving an actual drop of 15mm)

    Lovely ride and looks nice

    Default

put coilovers on it! my vectra c is 120mm on the front 100mm on the back and no issues with rubbing or scraping on speed bumps
