Default Vectra C Clutch / master Cylinder

hiya, am after some advice,i bought a 53 plate vectra 1.8 sri in january, after 2 weeks i couldnt get it into gear, took it back they told me oh its just a bit of air in the system and weve bled it up, itll be fine.
long story sort, 2wks l8r it started again, but became ok after pumping the clutch up, then became undriveable a couple o weeks l8r, fair play to the garage the car now 6wks out of warrenty got it back in, and replaced master cylinder, brill!!
yesterday i went to put it in reverse on my drive in the morning and low and behold grinding again!!!! i got my big syringe and pipe and back bled it, all fine again now,
is it likely that it just wasnt bled properly when the new cylinder was fitted or is it likely to be something else???

It will be the slave leaking. If the master is changed and no leaks in the pipe work then the only other place is inside the box.

Had the slave go on a few cars now and same symptoms as you have. Eventually no amount of bleeding will stop the air getting in.

Check the bottom of the box for fluid....

Slave and possibley the line too. They did not want to change that because it's about ten hours labour to to seperate the box and remove the clutch to get at the slave concentric slave cylinder.

Ten hours lol..... I can change flywheels in 3 in my garage with just a jack and a couple of stands. Dont know how the dealers get to these time scales.

Battery and box out, intake hose out, subframe off, wheels, drive shafts, gearbox away, change DMF, slave and clutch, put back together and refill gearbox oil. Sometimes they use blanks to stop the gearbox emptying and just top up. I was lead to believe that a clutch centring tool was required.

I told a lie there, ten hours was what they quoted me for the head. It was 4.9 hours quoted for the clutch and flywheel.
