    AAAAAAAAARRGGHHHH

was going for a the remap + EGR Removal + DPF removal at end of month!

    On the plus side,

Should this be covered by my cars warrenty? (its got 3 months warrenty) Please say yes!

Just had a poke around on this, Not going to fish the bar out, as if its warrenty job, they could claim i did it.

But all 4 seems to have a oil residue around them, 1 is quite thick gunk, 2 is quite oily, 4 is that loose i can see it wobbling with the engine on tick over!

No limp Modes, No Lights, Nothing. Car drives as good as day one.

My main question at the moment is, Can this bar be "fixed" without replacing the inlet manifold? (I dont want a bodged job, and tbh i dont trust the mechanic at the sales place, as i dont know him)

I know there is a fix, but i dont want to mess about with a "fix" when the car is still under warrenty, Surley the garage should do this on the warrenty (i will find out tomorrow when i speak to them)

Bit of a quick(ish) result on this one, partially there!

The garage is willing to supply all parts etc for a inlet manifold change from PErrys Vauxhall, so GM Parts.

    Parts included:

    Inlet MAnifold
    Inlet Gasket
    Inlet Actuator
4 Other Gaskets (i would presume EGR/Throttle body)
    Small Bar (of some kind?)
    Small Pipe (of some kind)

The service guy at perrys says that would be everything needed for VX to change the inlet. The Garage i got the car from is going to be ordering all the parts for me, I am just to supply the labour/Fitting. I wasnt happy with this at first, but my only other option would have been for them to do the work. Though, When i spoke to the car dealer i got car from, the machanic said "whats that" to the inlet manifold...... Now would you really trust that guy!

Now to find some one knowledged to do this job. Any reccomendations? South yorkshire area, Or any one got experience/knowledge of doing this want to give me a hand/show me how to.

Might as well do the Cam belt while you are at it.

That sounds about right, just do it yourself. Someone near by must have done the cam before and be able to help you. I used a standard issue jack upside down to support the engine (larger area on the sump to prevent damage to it) and did the job in the rain.

Ive got a nice big garage to do the work in, weathers no issue. I used to do all my mechanical work (even down to a full engine rebuild) but 3 years off the tools and confidence has gone.

Much better with 2 people there if/when needed imo aswell. Some one with knowledge ever better.
