    Default Disaster!

Decided to debadge the Signum and relieve it of its Signum, V6Turbo and Vauxhall badge...the two former items came off without any problems, took all of 10 mins with a bit of tar remover and a hairdryer and it was looking awesome but the Vauxhall badge has left this!!!

    Attachment 52853

so now the rear of my car looks like this

    Attachment 52854

popped to a local body shop and the guy reckons that on the right hand side there was a scratch or some sort that has been tidied up with a quick spray and that they blended it to the middle where the badge is hence why the right has a dark tide mark compared to the left.

So upset i want to cry and its going to cost £110 to properly spray the panel to remove it.

Does anyone know of a trustworthy/decent body shop in the essex area? Im in Westcliff but don't mind a short drive

Why not just put the badge back on, or if that's now broken buy another one?

Have you tried a good machine cut/polish on the panel?

Can't, I've already started polishing with Tcut and its moved the edge of the finished paint job so it'll still show

Yeah, went and purchased Tcut and its slowly moving the tide mark back but i stopped as it was making it worse......like i said the guy in the body shop said he could try and polish it out but he said its likely to uncover a big scratch anyway

Get a quote from your local Chips Away franchisee, as they may be cheaper than the bodyshop (and if there are two that cover your area, get quotes from both but don't mention to either you've already had a quote).

If it were me i would pay the 110 for it to be sprayed properly rather than paying chips away there not that good tbh

I hear ya but T-cut is rubbish........ a decent detailler will use a machine and progressive compounds to cut back, and this is nigh on impossible by hand

just called and they are affiliated to the dealer and only work M-F office hours and thats a problem for me for about the next 2 weeks! Shame cos its not a bad idea!

I've booked it in to be resprayed anyway as i don't suppose there will be much of a saving it just hurts and i can't stand driving round with the rear like it is!
