Default Fixing pulsing / flickering interior lights?

    Hey all,

I have noticed since upgrading to my GID screen, double din head unit (JVC), amp and sub package I am now getting a flickering / pulsing in time with the base of any song being played. The flickering siverity is directly linked to the volume of the unit (more base and high volume makes the light flicker or pulse more.

From research I have found that this due to the voltage draw of the amp when the music is being played and is normal... It has been sugested that a power cap may resolve this for me also...

Now, while i Know about amps etc I know nothign about power caps... The price of them varies wildley allong with their power rating....

Looking for help here on what to buy and wither it is even worth buying...

    Head unit is: JVC KW-AVX840
Amp is: FLI 450S 450 Watts
Sony Sub is: Sony Xplod 10" Sub Red (Peak 1100w)
Other: I have connected an extra earth from the engine to the car body for extra earthing also. Install earth has been cleaned and checked also and is 100% fine. Wiring is all beefy as sould be with approp in line fues.

    Thanks in advance Guys

Start with the big three that will help out, you could also get a better battery a yellow top. A power cap does not help with the power surge's it just keeps the power smooth.

    using 4AWG cables at present...

    The big three being...

1 - Batter Negative to Chassis
2 - Altanator to batter positive
    3 - Engine to Chassis

I have done the Engine to Chassis already, I can do the battery to Chassis calso quite easily... Im just not sure about doing the Altanator one... Do I get a new cable or do I just "piggyback" a second cable to the existing OEM one?

Has anyone else done the big three on their Vectra yet? If so how did you do it?

Also, does changing the batter not put more load on the altanator which can cause premature failing?

The batter I have in the car is the OEM one issued with the car back in 2004 (to match the 1.8 Z18XE (or is it X18XE) engine. If upgrading the battery is an option then I might as well do this. What size of batter should I go for?

You can use the same size as what there (piggyback) or take the old one out and put in a bigger one.
