    Default Livid!!!!

Just spent the last hour taking the bumper off the car to get the headlights out like a good boy so I can fit my new HID kit. This is the one I bought!

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3803643826...#ht_2197wt_929

And it doesn't effing fit! I even contacted the guy in advance and asked him if the kit is plug and play for a signum and he said it was! The icing on the cake is that the advert had a link for LED sidelights as well and they don't fit either!

So can anyone send me a link for one that they have actually purchased and installed on a facelifted signum that was plug and play?! No drilling the lights or cutting wires?

How do they not fit? H7 kit and 501 side light bulbs should fit fine :-/

Not done it myself but remember there is an excellent How2 on here complete with pics and step by step instructions. Including location of the ballasts.

I got mine for my facelift Vectra from HIDS4US 2½ years ago - make sure you select can-bus PRO from the drop down menu if you order.

Carmodshop sells the same ones aparantely.

    Here's where I fitted them.

Best of luck with the LED sidelights. They'll either flicker, throw up the bulb warning fail light or both.

The lesson here is... Connect up and check, then strip the car to tidy it up. Hope you have better luck with a new kit...

Just bare in mind that no matter what kit you buy you will be in need to drill out the bulb cap so you can push the bulbs through.

Post up some pics of what you bought matey.

Then we can see whats wrong if anything.

I did my hids 3-4 weeks ago (facelift Vec) so it should be exactly the same setup as mine.

We can then point you in the right direction.

    Cheers

P.s If the sidelights are 501's then they will fit but I must admit it was a very tight fit when I put mine in. Took a few goes as they are thicker at the base than standard bulbs.

OK here is what turned up, please tell me if I'm being a muppet then

    side lights

    Attachment 52835

    Attachment 52836

    HID kit

    Attachment 52837]

the connectors don't match the one that plugs into the headlight currently

and the other issues are that the ballasts are huge so don't fit under the headlight as per the how2

    Attachment 52838

and that the cap for the headlight needs to have the whole bulb passed through it so i would have to cut a huge hole!

    Attachment 52839

feel free to laugh and point at me if I'm being stupid but all the adverts for these say plug and play and there's no mention of cutting and modifying parts of the car no matter how small!

The red and black spade connectors need to be plugged into what would plug onto the back of your standard bulb. On the 3rd picture you have 2 loose ends, they need to be plugged into one another. Then cut a hole in the your exsisting bulb cap so you can pass the wires and connectors thru. The ballast for the passenger side should easily fit into the battery box.
