I only ask as I used to go through loads of bulbs in my Vectra B 'cos I kept driving up and down the motorway during the day with my lights on (ex BMW driver you see)
What do they look like anyway, can the be replaced?

yes they can be replaced, but they're about 170 quid each...
the only good news is they have a life of about 10,000 hours...so Joe-average should never need to change them..well, for a while anyway..
Hids4u do replacement for a lot less than that , £45 i think is the starting price for them , as there is no filiment to burn out , they should last (speaking in technical terms) quite a while ....
13 years @ 2 hours per day based on a 10,000 hour life span then
cant remember when we last sold a hid bulb,must be a few years ago
