I'd be saying a sticky egr/ throttle body.

Can you get access to live reading see what fuel pressure is like?

Thanks for reply, only if take to dealer I guess, the other thing I have noticed it feels like the turbo is cutting in and out at low revs !

So many possibilities without seeing data your really stabbing round blindly in the dark.

If you have a multimeter you could try testing MAF sensor

The First thing I'd try as it sounds like an issue ive had recently is to change the fuel filter mine started doing similar things and was fine when being booted but idle was so lumpy. Local auto factors did me a fuel filter for around £4.

That sounds like the early symptoms of a blocked SCV (fuel starvation causing the turbo to switch off)
What sort of speed and revs do you first notice the issue at?

It certainly sounds like the early symptoms of a blocked SCV
Mine occured whilst driving at 60mph, but lower then 40mph and higher than 60mph it was fine

As for replacing a failed SCV, the kit contains two (costing about £120, with a wait of about 2 weeks), and the labour is about 6 hours (as the fuel pump is buried within the engine)

As above, remove and check the fuel filter, and replace

If it is indeed this issue, it will gradually get worse over the next 2000 or so miles, and then become permanent rather than erratic
