    Default Loosing Coolant

    Hi all,

I seem to be loosing coolant from my 1.9 cdti 150. Its been fine for the 8 or months prior but now I've had to top it up twice in the last 6-8 weeks.

Any idea what might be causing me to lose coolant? Doesn't seem to be loads, and I don't see anything on the floor when I move the car that would indicate it dripping out, But doesn't seem right I've suddenly had to top it up twice!?!

Could be something like reservoir cap pressure valve or hair line crack.

Best best is have a pressure check carried out

Expansion tanks are common to fracturing at the rear around the middle seam.

New one from a dealer is only £20 odd..

Hope Critch is right and it it is not like my last Omega. Had same problem. No sign of leaks anywhere, kept topping it up every couple of weeks. After 6 weeks, the head gasket went!!

This happened to my 150cdti was having to fill up with water every couple of days, never was a puddle of water and with the under tray stoping the leak showing on the floor turned out to be the water pump on the cambelt, be very careful take of under tray and have a good look for drips I was lucky I cought it in time before it broke cambelt.

Thanks for the info all, Sorry it's taken me a while to get back.

I have been uber busy, car is booked in to the garage for friday though to get pressure tested etc. I have checked the Oil filler cap and dipstick to see if I could see signs of and HG issues but nothing too obvious. Hopefully not anything to do with that.

I have previously had an issue with this car though where the waterpump seized just after I bought it, so I had a fight with the garage to get them to repair the car in full, but now i'm a little concerned that maybe they just cleaned the water pump up rather than fit new and it's on it's way again!

On top of that, I had the emissions light come on the dash yesterday as well, not sure if it could be related but looks like something else to investigate now as well! Going to cost me a fortune this friday at the garage! :-(

Is there a way of code reading/clearing on the veccie c's without plugging in an opcom? Can you unplug the ECU to reset on these and then see if the light comes back etc? Or is there a pedal test type thing to get error codes?
