    Vehicle : Vxr in red

Default Running costs from focus st to vxr vectra

Hi guys Ive just purchased a focus st but still can't get the thought of having a vxr out my head. Was looking at an astra but decided the focus was the all round better car. Never got to test drive a vectra as couldn't find any nearby so took the plunge with the focus. Now Dont get me wrong i love the st its comfy and quick and actually suits Everything i need but still can't get the vxr out my head.

Apart from the tax cos id want an 07 onwards does anyone know What the running costs would be in difference to the st for the vectra. I do quite long journeys and am probably spending 150 quid a week on fuel but hey its good fun lol. Would the veccy be alot dearer to run?

Plus there cheaper then the sts so could maybe make a few bucks if i sold it.

    Cheers

Ray has owned both, currently owning an ST, i asked the same question and he said running costs were very similar..apart from the tax!
I also know he went to change back to a VXR but trade in prices were shocking for the ST

Well id be happy if i broke.even as Ive gotta do it though a dealer as Ive got 2k finance on the st so need to sort that out. Paid 9.5k for it in total so Im hoping to get a 7kish vxr with a bit of profit on the st. Shall see if i can find a dealer with a vxr first lol.

I think you'll be disappointed with what a dealer will offer you. I've had a quick look on the parkers guide and a 57 ST-2 3dr (I had to guess a few things) will get you about £6.5k on PX.

Have a look at what your specific car will get http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/prices/

As Bigdave says,.. 07/57 are being sold at £7500 so a trade in value would be between £6000 to £6500. May need to factor in some negative equity I think.

Hmm well will see what the dealers say. They can easily sell it on for 8k so even if i found a vectra for 7k and broke even id be happy enough.

Bout on a par with your description selling for £7600 - I'd imagine £6200 would be your offer on a trade in
