radio reception

hi all

right i am having problems with radio reception, i have the 3.2 elite saloon with ncdc 2013 with sat nav, when i have radio on fm is it ok but if i turn on rear demister i totally lose radio reception but sat nav is fine
i have had a look at rear aerial but cant see any water ingress and have nipped it up a bit more on the nut, looked at drivers kick panel but nothing obvious there
whats the next step a new aerial base and hope that cures it or is there something i am missing ??

I had exactly the same problem on my previous car, Mondeo mk3. I cured it in the end (and don't ask me how or why) but disconnecting the battery for 1/2 and hour or so, by chance really as I was doing some other work on it. I'm not sure if it was the heated rear screen or the heated mirrors. Worth a punt perhaps? Does it do it on all stations (BBC and local) or just the weaker ones (eg local stations)?

local stations mainly but can notice it on radio 1 etc aswell but not as bad

mines a bit bad on radio one but only in places but then my astra is the same

this only happens when i turn on rear demister any more ideas ??

I would try disconnecting the battery first. You may be surprised. ?

OK I know this is an old post, but was there a solution to the bad reception when the demister is on?
I have a CDR2005 that is doing this, and would be grateful for some help.
