    Default Remap Questions

Im looking to get my signum remaped at MAS at the end of this month,

The remap alone, is £200.00 which is a great price imo, But i have 2 or 3 questions.

    1. Do i get the EGR Blanked, If so What benefits are there?
(i am not using a new inlet manifold yet)
    - Would this effect the already sooted up inlet manifold?
    - Should i wait do blank the EGR untill i replace manifold?

    2. What Gains will i see from the removeal of the DPF?
I dont have any issues with it on the car, Is there any power gain from having the DPF Removed and mapped out, I am currently running standard exhaust system.

    - Should i just wait for if/when i go for a full system?
    - I dont currently get any smoke, Would i see a increase on smoke if removed?

Above are my questions/concerns. Below my options,

    1. Remap only
    2. Remap + DPF Removeal
    3. Remap + EGR Blanking (on old inlet)
    4. Remap + DPF Removed, and EGR Blanked.

I dont mind driving upto MAs for each one if needed as its not that far from me.
    Thanks in advance

Get all 3 done mate. The DPF and the EGR valve are only there for emissions purposes, and serve no useful function.

When you blank off the EGR and map it out you don't get hot exhaust gasses going into the inlet, burning the oil from the breather system and clogging it up. Depending on how bad it is right now will depend on how long it'll last before the swirl valves fail. They may run fine from now on or they could be on their last legs, but you will only do good things by blanking off the EGR. I did mine at MAS 10K miles ago and the engine is running sweet as a nut.

The DPF is one you can definitely get rid of - like all filters it will eventually clog up and block, requiring work to either clear it out or a trip to Vauxhall to do a forced regen and waste gallons of your own fuel in doing so. You may free up a bit of power by removing it as it's obviously an obstruction, but it's mainly just to save you money when it goes wrong later on down the line, which it will eventually...

I'd get all 3 done at once to save you the trip, and have a nice 190bhp remap at the same time...

    You won't regret it mate

Dane, does this include physical DPF removal or just mapping it out?

Included the part for physical removal i think, I would need to confirm, Here are the emails exchanged today

I am looking to have a remap done to my Signum 1.9cdti 150 After some reading, It seems it would also make sense to go with the DPF Removal (plus pipe from yourselves) and the EGR Blanking (With parts from yourselves if you can supply)

Would be great, if i could get a price for all the of this, including parts.
    Remap
    DPF Removal + Parts
    EGR Removal + Parts

    Thanks Dane.
    Reply was ,

    Hi dane

Yes no problem, we can do all that for £360 all in.
I would need the car for around 4 hours to complete the work.
If you need any more info please contact me.

    Thanks
