Default rear interior light no loom

Hi can anyone help I have rear int light but no loom, on the how 2 it shows to solder onto the front light board could you connect to the wires rather than solder to the board or would this not allow rear light to function correctly. Thanks

So I could connect to the wires that come from the connector to the loom. I'm ok on which wires do what just my soldering is crap and I don't want to ruin my front light esp as its a map one.
