Default Observations now the box is on.

Now I've had the box on for a week or two I've noticed a few things and wondered what to make of it all:

    1. Performance. I still have two jumpers let to go on the box and I'm happy already.

    2. Smoke. The car smokes when cold and if I labour the engine in traffic, but when i boot it, I give out a cloud and then nothing. On the Motorway, at speed, the smoke is no longer evident. I expected it to be the other way round...lots of smoke at high speeds.

    3. Rattle: There's definately a rattle that comes in around 2000 rpm and goes away at about 2200. Cause for concern?

    4. Acceleration. I'm a little dissappointed with a 0-60 time of 10-11 seconds. Although the little cars in the distance make up for that. Had hoped for a sub 10 second time!

    5. Fuel consumption. I filled up last Monday and off I went. For the first half of the tank, Consumption was doubled maybe more but appears to be slowing. Are my eyes deceaving me? I thought I'd go through a tank in 3 days but its gonna last the week now!

Now I've seen what the CR2 can do...I'm well interested in the Spider and remaps.....HHHmmmm.

I think its a job to get anywhere near manufacturers 0-60 unless you are a very good driver with the proper timing gear.....oh and a flat road!

It's more like the buzzing sound you hear when say a coil is vibrating against a piece of plactic in the door or something. It sounds like it's not from the engine but rather from the cabin.

The Passenger side B pillar has a rattle on my new veccy, the stealer had a look & guess what?, it's no ****** different , it's possible the extra power the engine is producing is causing the rattle to be more evident than before you fitted the box.

I had a quick rummage through the car and found a pen in the space infront of the ashtray. Once removed the buzzing rattle dissappeared!

I wonder how long it would have taken the "technicians" at Vx to find that

thats cheered me up at this godforsaken time on a saturday morning

Good review Brock's, i found its mostly in the mid-range that the box comes alive as 1st and 2nd are pretty much rendered useless...

I'd go along with that. There seams to be a surge in power just before the turbo joins in (assuming it kicks in at around 2500rpm).

I am tempeted to up the box a bit more but I'm not sure about the smoke I'm kicking out.
