I'm having the same as you on my right knee soon ish, and having my creaky right shoulder joint 'shaved' shortly after. The knee surgey is fairly quick recovery wise in fit and active folk (friends have had it done)- but can take longer in older and more sedentary folk.

Cant wait to be able to lock my knee out again!!!!!

Yes I have, and no it didn't. Doesn't click anymore mind. Mines a little different as I shattered my knee cap and it's full of steel already, 6 odd bits it was in before it was wired. Everyone says its a quick recovery, but I was shattered for 6 weeks and I'm just 37. It seems to be a quick recovery if there is no previous long term damage mind, I seem to have severe arthritis too which isn't really helping. Your normally in and out quick mind, hope I've cheered you up!

I had a similar operation on my shoulder. Years of playing school boy rugby and getting trampled on had shredded the muscle tissue in my shoulder. I was in & out the same day & 6 weeks to recover. The pain killers they gave me were the only way I got through the first 2 weeks of recovery.

A few people at work have had it done, all been a success and one of them was back to work in two weeks after having it done. All cases different but they have all been fine

I had a bi-lateral arthoscopy and lateral release at 17, my knees have never fully recovered (I'm now 34). Ruined a fairly promising football career, but that had caused the problem in the first place, along with too many other sports. Have had physio on and off for 15 years, but nothing seems able to sort it, and they're reluctant to put me under the knife again. I am fully mobile, but any sustained walking hurts like hell, I can't run, and stairs are a chore. Good days and bad days to be fair, but even with my excercise limitations now, they are still better than when they went properly all those years ago.

One thing I will say, is that whatever excercises they give you afterwards, do them. It will make your recovery stronger.
