Default Insignia Bi-Turbo Diesel, first pics.

Have a look at the front grill! Chrome VXR grill with black slats.

    Twin exhausts as standard.

I like the sound of the supersport chassis pack!

    Brembo Brakes
    20" Wheels
    Hyperstrut front suspension

All for £1695 which I think is a bargain!

    Price: £29,785
Not exactly a bargain. If I had that sort of cash to spend on a high powered diesel, the Insignia wouldnt even make the top ten for me. Or any other Vauxhall for that matter.

Far better (dare I say it) Deutschland cars available and they wont depreciate fast like the Insignia either. Good car but priced stupidly (at list anyway).

Suspect dealers will lop big discounts off it and help kill residuals as well. Not exactly smart - and GM wonders why its Euro operations lose money

I meant the Chassis pack was a bargain, not the car, I think the Insignia's are just too expensive.

All models need a drop in their list price by about £4000 per model. this would give you a decent spec SRi 160 VX-Line for £25k, which I think would be about right, not ****** £29k

Vauxhall do need to think about offering lower list prices and smaller discounts. But the current way is to make the fleet buyers think they are getting a massive discount!

But £1695 for Brembo Brakes, 20" Wheels and Hyperstrut is not that an expensive option for what you get.

Yes I knew thats what you were referring to - I saw the price in the article and referred to that.

To be fair, even a £4k price cut isnt enough. Considering Insignia's lose value faster than a lead balloon, perhaps a £7-8k cut is needed to entice buyers.

Price is one of the key reasons why I didnt buy an Insignia after I dumped my Vec C. They are over priced, underequipped, poor build quality compared to other marques, the drive experience is boring as hell (no road feedback etc) and the fact that they lose so much value put me right off.

No doubt the £29k price of this Bi-Turbo will equally put private buyers off...

I saw this a few days ago, man id love that mated to their new 247BHP petrol lump!

Petrol engine dervied from the new Astra GTC VXR (huge tuning potential), 4 wheel drive, and an Insignia VXR chassis / suspension set-up! :-D, one can only wish.

    All with sleeper SRI looks.

in a year or two these should be great bargains on the second hand market.
bet these drive very well. the 160PS didn't tempt me out of my vec150, but this one might.

I spec'd up my Elite nav sports tourer and going from the standard 2.0 to the biturbo added on 5 grand...

I'm liking the sound of the super sport package though - I wonder if I can order it seperately after the car's built.......

The performance on the bi-turbo is really being chocked in order to keep the emissions down to 146KG/KM. When people start remapping those, they will see upto 400lbft without any mods but 220-230bhp would be about the limit of the 52mm compressor on the larger turbo.

Now I need a turbo to keep up!
