    Default Headlights Issue

    Hi All,

The other day I got a warning up on the dash saying that one of my dipped beam bulbs had failed. Upon inspection, this was correct.

    (Car is a 2004 SRI T 100)

I took the rubber protector off and was trying to remove the bulb when it mysteriously came back on! The light worked fine until I pulled up at home and when I turned the car on and off a couple of times to check the light, it was working correctly.

Next morining and the light fails again. A quick fiddle with the wring directly behind the bulb and the light pops on again.

I assume this is a wiring issue, has anyone else had problems the same s this?

I've also had issues with the car telling me that the side light is out when it isn't on the same headlight assembly.

Any ideas as to where to look first? MOT is due in a couple of weeks!

    Matt

Sounds like the connections could do with a clean up.

As most are a spade connector you can also tighten them up a bit with pliers to make them pinch tighter on the spade terminal they're being pushed on to.

The new bulb has cured it and I'm yet to see the sidelight warning come back.
