Default Easiest way to upgrade to Windows 7

I have a toshiba laptop running windows XP at the moment.

What is the cheapest and easiest way to get windows 7 on it,

preferably an upgrade of sorts without doing a full clean install.

I don't think you have a choice m8, my guess is xp won't just "update" to windows 7 and you will need to do a clean install. All I know is vista is upgradable to 7

    Default Windows 7

Go to www.software4students.co.uk for the best deal you are likely to see.
You will need the name of a family member who is still at school/college/etc and your relationship to them.

They have a special offer on at the moment for Office 2010 and Windows 7 as an eye-watering package. Up to 90% off and all legitimate. If you have trouble updating - go to the Windows site or Google it and you will find all the info you need.

Their facility to make these offers ends in a couple of weeks time.

I would always do a fresh format and install of Win7..
Back up the stuff you need first (docs, music, pics, favs, dbx files etc etc) and then move them to your fresh install.

Upgrade is just not worth it.

Windows 7 will wipe your existing HD anyway so it will be a fresh install

It will create a file called "Old Windows" when you do the install and all your old stuff will be located in this folder and will be moved to the new install by MS

I bought a copy of windows 7 from a certain website and I paid about £30 for a genuine working copy.
Let me know if you want the site name.
