    Default EGR blanking

I'm shortly going to be blanking the egr on my 1.9CDTI 150, but I just wanted to check whether I should be cleaning the crud out of it as well as blanking it off? Just unsure whether any crud left in there is going to cause any issues once it blanked.....

I wouldnt have thought so unless the crud is excessive. You will basically have isolated it from a gas flow.

Blanked mine about 3 months ago. Not had any issues and car is running sweet. My EGR was goosed. MPG improved also (just a bit)

My EML hasnt come on at all since blanking it off..... I wonder if there is any correlation between year of manufacture and whether blanking the EGR affects the EML or not?

    Mine is a 57 plate 1.9cdti sri 150
