I would have thought it means it has a wireles card in it. You will be able to connect via WIFi like a laptop and also send photos to a wireless printer without having it connected.

I would reckon it just means that it has wireless ability built into it, so that you don't need a separate external USB dongle or PCI card fitted inside it. Basically just the same as most modern laptops or netbooks etc.

You'll still need a wireless router to provide a wireless network in the house.

What's the make & model of your new machine?

Depending on the WIFI card, it might be possible to share your wired internet connection to other wireless clients. To do this, look for settings for ad-hoc networks.

I have done it before and it works but i reccommend picking up a cheap wireless router instead. They are a lot less hassle.

That is so that it can receive a strong (and reliable) signal from Wireless routers
If the router is nearby then the aerial can even be removed!

I had a similar setup on my desktop for a while, connect it via WLAN rather than the USB cable
