Vauxhalls official recommendation is 5w/30 long life fully synth for all Vec-C engines.

Vauxhalls 'own brand' is very good oil.

5.5 litres, for the 2.0 DTi, IIRC.

if you have a branch of 'the range' near you you can get a Unipart oil made specifically for vx and in 5w30 fully sunth for about 17quid for 5 litres, and they sell one made specially for fords too. apart from vx trade club it is the best deal going by a long way!!
5 litres will be enough for the dti oil change as it takes 4.5L to the min and 5.5L to the max line on the dipper. But it's worth buying 10L at that price so you can keep her nearer the max mark all year. and it'll give you plenty over to start on next years oil change so 5l will be all you'll need for the next few years..

That's Halfords own. It's Vx specific though, hence the price.

Not so sure thats a good thing to recommend.

They specify 5.5lts for a reason.

An engine should always be kept to the full level at all times, to aid lubrication.

Is it really noisy or using a lot of oil between changes? If not stick to what VX suggest imo, 5/30 fully synthetic.

Im not surprised. Is there not a VX dealer close to you, dexos2 would have been cheaper, even at normal prices.
