In some ways their policy makes sense to make sure that they don't get any through not signed that needed it.
The words storm and teacup spring to mind here.
Storm in a teacup? And yet you seem worked up over it. lol

No, Tesco don't have the right to misuse an NHS document, and if their customer services people ever get back to me with something along the lines of "the staff at the pharmacy are correct and we back them" then I'll eat my hat.

If one Tesco store starts a policy that they want a signature for each credit card purchase even when you've successfully used the chip and pin facility, will you just go along with it, like a doormat? I know I won't.

You've clearly totally misunderstood my aim, I don't have that level of vindictiveness. My aim in this particular instance is to get some people to deliver a decent level of "customer" service during what is a very simple task, rather than have them abuse their position. Is that difficult to comprehend?

Maybe they have started the policy because someone like you stung them when they didn't get all of them signed.

A signature can be anything you want, just sign it with an x or put something obscure like " big soup"

You can't sign it now tho', can you, because you've taken it too far. I'd refuse to serve you in future. Apt username.

    lol... wow!

I don't really see the issue here. Sign, or go elsewhere. It's not exactly difficult.

There's bad customer service everywhere. Vote with your feet.

I wouldn't waste my time arguing. Sign or go elsewhere. Bigger things to worry about. guess Tesco dont get paid if its not signed when it should be - so to make sure they dont miss out they ask for everyone to sign. Even if it is an abuse of an NHS form why is this your concern ? Are you a member of the NHS form completion police ?

I really cant believe what im reading.

If you dont want to sign the prescription go elsewhere instead of going and annoying them, they clearly are under instruction to ask you to sign it. Its not there fault they are just doing there job. They are only doing it this way because people in this country are so keen to rip people off and get something for nothing that someone has been away with meds they should have paid for.
