    Default Slipped disc

This is the third time in 4 years I have slipped my disc.
Been in agony for 2 weeks now, and now I have trapped nerves so off to the docs again this morning.
Does anybody have any pain relief tips they want to share.

Just recovering from my first slipped disc, so can fully empathise with you.

I was simply given Codeine Phosphate and told to keep moving and wait for physio. You can additionally try an ice pack when it first happens and later hot baths.

I tried a Tense machine, just made my skin feel numb.

Trapped nerves are known as Sciatica, which I also still have a numb leg, although my back is almost sorted now.

Sorry, but just hang in there, do the physio and keep moving. I wouldnt go to a Chiropractor as you are not out of alignment and could actually make it worse.

I've had 2 discs removed, the best painkiller for me has been my memory foam mattress. None of the painkillers I've used made much difference tbh, at least I can sleep most nights now. helps too.

I'm addicted to Tramadol 100mg, so be careful with them. They made me feel sick too at first.

I broke my back had a disc removed and then had it pinned with 4 bolts and a carbon fibre disc. Tramadol is ok but I hate taking painkillers even when my sciatica kicks in.

In the four years after the op I have found keeping active the best cure. When it does hurt I use an ice pack then have a hot bath. No matter how much it hurts I still keep moving as for me I find sitting around increases the pain.

Saying that I still powerlift surf and trek mountains cage fight and do honestly believe that positive thought helps a great deal to overcome the pain
