I used to visit Edinburgh regularly, probably once every fortnight, until the Local Authority decided to start a scheme that seems to never end...
Over the last three year I made just one visit each year

Driving, certainly if you want to get anywhere near princes street

Driving and parking is a disaster due to the tram works. Many random roads closed or unable to turn into whilst travelling in a certain direction, diversions through residential car parks etc which are absolutely mental. I once took a 13ton LWB atego into a residential car park that they decided to use as a diversion and ended up having to get out and push every single wing mirror in and even then it was still the most challenging short drive ive ever experienced.

i live just outside edinburgh and work in edinburgh and i really dont think its that bad personally. fair enough they close random streets and have the longest diversions ever but all in all its really not that bad
