Default Washer jet hose location + small how-to

Hi guys, wondering if any of you could point out where I am supposed to route the headlight washer hoses on the inside of the bumper (facelift model).

    __________________________________________________ _____________

Finally took the plunge and started hacking my bumper apart to get the washer jets installed .

Took everyones advice and drilled loads of small holes (using a 2mm bit) inside the markings on the back of the bumper about 2.5mm inside the line.

    Attachment 52501

Then with double sided sticky tape (nomorenails) stuck the rear part of the washer jets to the bumper location.

Moved round to the front side of the bumper and using my high speed die-grinder and a ¼’ router flush trimming bit (above) routed out the remaining plastic following the profile of the washer jet and ended up with this

That was tense....... had to be sooooo carefull not to catch the inner jet part/nozzle with the router bit, so if I ever had to do it again I would probably remove the nozzle head to be on the safe side.

Well now its all put together and sitting in the lounge as it was too dark to put it back on the car, plus I've got to install the new washer reservoir and gubbings then can have some fun getting it to work

All in all took me about 3 hours to get to this stage, just thought I could throw some ideas for some of the other folk who were considering doing the same. Just need to figure out how to rout the jet piping and hopfully all will be well and good.

    Hope it helps

    Cheers Khalid,

Did think to myself at one point "What am I doing to a perfectly good bumper, cutting holes in it lol"

Would have loved to get mine sprayed as I've noticed some of the lacquer is coming off in places due to stone chips and the usual sand blast it gets in the winter and the rattle can sprays are no where near similar match to the paint work (as you can see with the covers)

But it will suffice for now, just got to try figure out why they are not working....... Have set all the parameters to "Present" but when going into the test function all is says is "Off" (and I did have my headlights switched on).

Hope its not the £3 ebay Saab washer pump that's on the fritz or might need to get some Tech2 work done at some point

Off the top of my head mate I can't quite remember but went off the guidelines from here (can't remember which thread it was)

    13183116 - NOZZLE,HEADLAMP WASH,OUTER,RH X 1= £17.85
    13183117 - NOZZLE,HEADLAMP WASH,OUTER,LH X 1 = £17.90
    13183124 - HEADLAMP WASHER HEAD RETAINING CLIP RH X 1 = £2.44
    13183125 - HEADLAMP WASHER HEAD RETAINING CLIP LH X 1 = £ 2.43
    13208121 - COVER, HEADLAMP WASHER NOZZLE, R/H PRIMER X 1= £11.45
    13208137 - COVER, HEADLAMP WASHER NOZZLE , L/H PRIMER X 1= £11.45
    13183120 - HEADLAMP WASHER HOSE ASSY X 1= £13.75
    90508709 - PUMP,RESERVOIR,HEADLAMP WASHER X 1= £61.50
    9186040 - Reservoir, assy. Headlight X 1= £27.60
    90347698 - FILTER,HEADLAMP WASHER PUMP X 1= £2.80
    90053056 - GASKET,PUMP TO RESERVOIR, X 1= £2.46
    24438885 - RELAY,HEADLAMP WASHER X 1= £2.65
Rattle can of VX spray paint + lacquer = £7

I was quite fortunate that I already had the RELAY already in place in the UEC (Under bonnet fuse box) and the extra plug taped to the washer pump for the Headlamp washer pump

Sorry I cant be more exact with regards to prices, but hope it helps

Finally got it sorted in the end........

Think it was a bad connection on the headlight washer pump (didn't push the connector on hard enough)

So thats one less thing to do. Now to start saving and sourcing the level sensors/brackets + lights/wiring and look into going the whole hog

    Final out come:-

Its really not that difficult to do just be patient and try not to rush anything, as they say "Measure 10 times, cut once!!!"

    Good luck
