Doesn't work with all models. Best just get (or borrow) a fault code reader, one of the cheap eBay ones will do the job just fine.

Is just annoying, is there anywhere you can get them off the shelf at a decent price?

Not sure ,mate, I think all the "off the shelf ones are pretty expensive by comparison.

You've got a couple of options.

    1) A handheld reader that just spits out the error code.
    2) A USB reader that you can plug into a laptop.
    3) Bluetooth reader that you can use with your mobile/PC.

Option 2 is the cheapest, 1 is the easiest.

If you were closer, I'd do it for you. I've got a cheap USB ELM327 from eBay and use it with Movi Pro on my MacBook Air and it works a treat. There was a thread on here recently talking about code readers, I'll see if I can find it.

    EDIT Here it is

    Thanks fellas,

I'm going to go through the common stuff, EGR, boost sensor, hopefully will have a lucky break. Then will order in a reader and see what comes up.
    Will update..

    A quick update,
I cleaned up the EGR valve then had a look inside the chamber where it resiculates the gases and it was unbelievably clogged up covering almost what I think is the boost sensor, on the top of the air intake manifold, so I scraped all the gunk out and gave it a good clean up... And all is well, with a massive improvement on pick up on acceleration, it idles better when cold and no limp mode.
I had the diagnostics put on it and all fault codes go to boost pressure sensors and EGR valve.
All except one an ecu malfunction, would that be because of it going into limp mode?

    Thanks for your help guys
