Default How to deal with ebay idiots ?

In the grand scheme of things , it's not really a major problem , but I have been given the royal runaround by a clown off ebay this week

I sold an item for over £600 on monday evening , and the buyer messaged me straight away saying he would come and collect this morning.
I was a little suspicious as he lives 200 miles away ( down south )
But due to his 100% feedback score ( over 250 feedback ) I deemed him trustworthy , However over the last few days I have not had any sort of contact from this guy , and after a little detective work , I have found another seller selling the same item as me ( but newer ) and I can see straight away that the winning bidder is the guy who won mine , even thought the identities are hidden , the feedback number is shown , and it's the same as his.
I know people could say it's a coincidence , but there's no way someone with the exact same feedback score would be bidding on a similar item , as they are quite rare and not alot of call for them .
I know in retrospect I should of had a proper conversation with the guy , after getting his phone number etc , but his feedback lulled me into a false sense of security .
I'm certain he would still of done the same anyway .
The thing that really yanks my chain is his lack of courtesy , even a bs message saying he had made a mistake etc , but to just leave it all week , and as far as he know's I could be sat at work waiting for him all day , I just can't believe it .
As far as I can see there's not really much I can do through ebay , apart from open a dispute , and he may get an unpaid item strike .
It really just goes to show , trust nobody on ebay , whatever their feedback may be

i has this with a car recently on ebay .

the guy emailed a few times to get the info .

    he bid ,

    he won .

    THEN NOTHING .

He had 100 percent feedback too .

the auction ended first week of February , so i might now open a dispute of non payment of car, and to try and get £ 10 of lost fees refunded .

when the bidders win , YOU get their address for postage even with cars .

is he close enough to pop around to his house ?

mine was nearly 200 miles away .

I've been checking his ebay acount for sales , so i can out bid all his potential bidders and at the last minute , cancel the bid , making him look suspicious to other bidders .

l.o.l. = petty , i know , but then again he left me out of pocket on a car sale , without any word at all .

Well the guy is 200 miles away , so can't "pop" around ,
    much as I'd love to
But seriously the guy is bidding on an identical item to mine which ends tonight.
He's obviously edging his bets , but I really am not one to be messed around.
I'm so tempted to outbid him on the other item , then when he comes crawling back to me for mine , let him do the 4 hour trip , then laugh at him and tell him to sling it when he arrives
Now how funny would that be .

If he bid and won it he has entered into a contract with you.

Just report it as a non paying bidder.

    Thats what you do.
You can then wreck his 100% score, and that will show him up as a fraud.

I have done earlier , it just burns me up that this guy bidded on my item , then as soon as he won , messaged me to say he would collect sat morn (today)
from my place of work , and for all he knows I have been sat waiting all day for him
Then the day after winning mine , spotted another and bidded on that one and lost interest in mine .
I'ts the inconvenience more than anything , The item is being stored at my mates garage , and it's in the way , I held it for 5 days waiting for him , but now have to wait another 4 days until the dispute ends , so I can relist.
Ebay really is shart , they just cater to cover buyer's , seller's don't have a leg to stand on .

Well I've been reading the ebay policy on this , and it states " they may decide to put an unpaid item strike against him" , but from what I'm reading this won't affect his feedback rating , and until a buyer has a few of these strikes , I think they are nothing more than a slap on the wrist .
So basically , he can get away with it scott free .

I'd bid on the other item so its not as cheap as it could be, then withdraw my bid at the last moment if I was the leading bidder.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
